For these purposes, we collect and use certain basic personal information from our customers. We also collect and use personal information from our employees and partners.
This privacy statement explains our personal information protection practices.
What kind of personal information do we collect?
Information collected from customers
Generally, when a customer contacts us by phone or through our website, we collect the customer's name, address, telephone number, credit card number if that is the chosen payment method, email address if the customer orders through our website, previous orders, and any comments the customer may have provided to us.
canadaresto.com provides the information you give us to the independent partner serving you. The information we provide to these partners will be handled according to their privacy and personal information protection practices. You should consult the partner serving you to understand how and why it collects and uses your personal information.
If this concerns you, you may limit the personal information you provide to us and, as a result, to the partner that will serve you.
Information collected from prospective partners
Generally, when a prospective partner contacts us, we collect the person's name, address, telephone number, email address, certain financial information, work experience, education, and background information.
Information collected from prospective employees
For prospective employees, we collect only the information required to assess their employment application and suitability for the position, and to manage our employees.
The information collected includes their name, address, telephone number, email address, and information about their performance, work experience, education, background, and other information provided in their resume or obtained from the references listed.
The business contact information of our partners and employees, such as the telephone number, mobile number, email address of Restoenligne.com inc. employees, their name, and their title, does not constitute personal information.
Why do we need to collect personal information?
We collect, use, and retain customers' personal information, including delivery address, email address, and previous orders, to fulfill your orders, anticipate your preferences when you contact us again, and provide faster and better service. If you tell us that you do not want us to retain this information, we will destroy it.
Please note, however, that our systems currently cannot track these requests once the information has been destroyed. As a result, if you place another order, we will need to collect this information again and it will not automatically be destroyed afterwards. See the section below titled How can I access or update my personal information? to learn how to tell us your preferences.
In that case, you will need to provide your personal information each time you contact us to place an order.
We also use the personal information we collect for marketing purposes so that we can contact you by email, telephone, mail, or any other communication method in the following circumstances: promotions or contests, new or promoted products, special offers, requests for feedback on new products, requests for feedback on your meal or our customer service, and responses to your comments or concerns.
Your personal information is available to affiliates, partners, agents, representatives, contractors, and service providers, and may also be used for marketing purposes. Our affiliates are subject to this privacy statement and must comply with it.
We require our affiliates, partners, agents, representatives, contractors, and service providers to use the personal information we provide only for specific service and marketing purposes and only in compliance with the law and this privacy statement. We will not use or disclose your personal information for marketing purposes if you tell us that you do not want us to do so.
We do not disclose our customers' personal information to third parties without your consent, except where required or permitted by law.
Personal information of job applicants
We use the personal information of job applicants only to assess their suitability for employment. If an applicant is hired, we will also retain and use the information collected as part of the assessment of the employment application.
We may keep the information provided by an applicant for twelve months from the date of the application in order to assess that person's suitability for other employment opportunities within our organization. Applicants' personal information is destroyed twelve months after the date of their application if no employment within our organization has materialized during that period.
Relevant documents are destroyed by shredding or another secure disposal method.
How do we safeguard personal information?
We retain personal information for as long as it is useful or required. Personal information that has been collected and is no longer used will be anonymized or destroyed, unless retention is required or authorized by law. Personal information may be stored and processed outside Canada, including in the United States.
As a result, personal information may be accessed by foreign government authorities in accordance with the laws in force in the jurisdiction where it is stored.
How can I access or update my personal information?
We make sure that the personal information we use and retain is accurate, complete, and up to date. You may ask to access or correct your personal information.
You may also contact us to tell us that you do not want us to retain your personal information for future services, use your personal information for marketing purposes, or share your personal information for marketing purposes. Please contact us through the Contact us section of canadaresto.com.
