Absolutely fantastic. Coming in from out of town, a dinner at Patois is always on my itinerary. Delicious Jamaican-Chinese menu, great atmosphere and lovely staff. Thanks to Sean and Craig for taking care of my friend and I for my birthday! (Pictured top to bottom - Smashed cucumbers, popcorn shrimp fried rice, Brussel sprout salad w/Asian pear, Jerk Pork Belly Yakisoba and Calamari)

Amazing place, great vibe. The service was excellent. The food was exceptional, if you have a party of 3+ and have never been I would suggest the whole shebang platter. It has a bit of everything. Daiquiris were delicious, jerk chicken was the good kind of spicy for a white guy, oxtail was stick to your ribs lip smacking sumptuous. Go here.

It's a unique fusion of Chinese and Jamaican food, service was good if somewhat robotic. Surprised that having made a reservation and there being 2 empty boots that we got seated next to the kitchen door, which was propped open and we could see and hear all the chaos inside. Food was good, very conceptual but under seasoned and lacking any heat. The patties (3) were tiny bite sized, unlike the price but the oxtail dipping sauce was good. Shrimp Pasta was good, jumbo shrimp, deshelled, battered and fried on a plate of creamy ramen - said to be chili spiced but we detected zero heat. Fried Chicken was great tasting kind of like a cheffy KFC flavouring, we ordered the 4 pieces which was really 3 pieces + 1 inedible wing tip. Pork Belly Yakisoba was nice in flavourful oxtail gravy but really really oily. Came here 6 months ago and had the Popcorn Shrimp Fried Rice and Jerk Chicken Chow Mein - again no heat/spice, very oily. Patois rests on its concept and maybe caters to mild palates, but lacks the heat and spice flavouring opportunities that a fusion of real Jamaican and Chinese food can have. Suggestion for the chef: offer spice levels made to order like they do in many Asian restaurants. Total pre-tax/tip for 3 people: $157 (only soft drinks). Casual dining room vibe.

First Caribbean cuisine experience for us. We.choose to sit outside on the terrace as we.felt it could be too noisy inside as its not a big restaurant. We enjoyed the jerk chicken ( with additional spicy sauce). Fried rice was good . Pineapple bun burger always so so

Food was decent but nothing mind blowing… It's usually a little harder to hit all points when it comes to fusion. Pineapple bun burger was interesting! It definitely hit the umami flavour profile with the oyster sauce but you could barely taste the pineapple bun through the double patty. Fried rice and chow mein were a little one dimensional. Will say the staff were great tho!

The staff were friendly, especially the hostess! She was so welcoming 😀 The calamari was good, the batter was similar to onion ring batter. The jerk chicken and rice and peas were good too. The coleslaw was great! However, I found it a little pricey. The half chicken ($30) didn’t come with any sides, just a few pickles and some sauces. The sides were an additional $20. Wish they offered a smaller portion of chicken (like quarters). I see in other photos they used to, but they did not have that when we went.
