perfect first experience @ shiro. melt in your mouth bluefin otoro & king salmon onigiri. their special spicy tuna roll has a really particular and yummy heat to it & so much fish. asahi on tap came with complimentary pickles. miso soup was sizeable and classic. will be back soon no doubt.

When we went to the restaurant, the server asked us whether we wanted tea or water. We said tea, but they never informed us that there would be an extra charge. However, when the bill came, they charged us $1.50 per cup. When we questioned them about the charge, their attitude was extremely rude. They eventually waived the tea charges, but told us that they would definitely charge us next time. I was honestly so upset and disappointed with their attitude and service. I will never dine at this restaurant again.

The decor is pretty decent. This is a Japanese Restaurant run by Japanese. Make no mistake. The taste is exactly what you will find in Japan. The sushi is on point. No worries about if they used the correct type and grade of rice, or if they added enough rice vinegar and how it would hold up. They've been here for years and you can understand why once you try their food. Prices are good too.

Cozy old school Japanese restaurant. Tight space and require waiting at times. It is good that is why there is a line up. Salmon kama and belly was a bit on the tough and dry side

Easily my favourite restaurant in Vancouver. the food is immaculate - easily some of the best Japanese food I've ever had - but the staff are friendly and personable in a way that has made becoming a regular here over the past few years a delight. That's why it's heartbreaking to see AI art slop start appearing on menus this week. My friends and I all work in creative fields and it flatly sucks to see our livelihoods disrespected in a place we cherish for being so human - that the care that goes into the food and service here is being eroded from their menus. It really soured our last visit, and I hope management sees this and takes a step back from this so we can continue enjoying one of the city's best eateries.

Good, well priced Japanese restaurant. Give it a try! I almost got hit by a lady’s car after dinner here…

Fantastic Food! Very kind and professional service. We had a few rolls and some Mackerel and oh boy was it tasty! Highly recommend if you enjoy Japanese cuisine.

Although it appears to be japanese operated the food left much to be desired. The avocado in my salmon avocado roll was unripe and there was not much fish. The tuna maki and negitoro had the same base which was minced tuna, which should not be the case for tuna maki since it is should be pieces of fish. The rice was also falling apart on my nigiri, which means it was not properly made. The egg on the oyakodon was fully cooked and not slightly runny like it should be. Service was not great either.

Delicious. Good quality sushi. I love the tempura which has a light yet crispy batter, and it doesn’t fall off. The sauce is not that sweet which actually tastes better for me. The bbq squid is a little salty but overall very good. The bluefin negitoro don set is a smart combination of noodle, tempura and bluefin tuna. Also the tea is very good too. Highly recommend.
