A solid option, or great during happy hour. Food is typically quite good but was pretty disappointed with the Sante Fe wrap. Essentially all greens with minimal veggies. Thai chicken bowl seemed to lack chicken during this one instance. Otherwise I enjoy visiting sidebar. I think it has very high potential if some things can get smoothed over.

Natalie made my birthday extra special with her excellent service and drink suggestions. We both had the grilled salmon over rice, corn and beans. Delicious! And the complimentary chocolate cake was just the best ending to a perfect dinner!

What was supposed to be a special birthday celebration quickly turned into a disappointing experience. Three weeks in advance, I booked what I was told would be a private room for a group of approximately 40 people. While we did have a designated room, upon arrival we discovered that it was being shared with approximately 14 other guests, which was not what we had been led to expect when making the reservation. The biggest issue, however, was the staffing. We had one server responsible for our entire group of 40 people. To be fair, the kitchen was clearly on the ball the food came out surprisingly quickly. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the drinks or overall service. We had a group of about a dozen children, and some were finished their meals before they even received their drinks. Naturally, they became restless and were standing and socializing. At one point, a supervisor in a red dress came over and essentially reprimanded the children for standing. This was particularly frustrating because we have booked private rooms at beautiful restaurants such as Black & Blue and Atlas in the past, and the whole point of having a private space is to allow your group to socialize and move around comfortably without disturbing the rest of the restaurant. I was the birthday girl, and honestly, several of my friends were extremely unhappy with the experience. I was disappointed as well, but at that point, there didn't seem to be much that could be done to change the evening. We had also specifically mentioned that two of our guests have celiac disease and were assured that suitable options would be available. When we arrived, however, the gluten-free choices appeared to be extremely limited, which was disappointing given that this had been discussed in advance. Another uncomfortable moment was hearing staff discussing that our group was going to be "cut off" when people had only had approximately two drinks each. Perhaps there was more to the situation that we weren't aware of, but the way it was handled made our group feel as though we were somehow a problem rather than guests celebrating a special occasion. Overall, the food came out quickly, and I will give credit to the kitchen for that. Unfortunately, the lack of adequate staffing, the misunderstanding around the private room, the treatment of the children, and the overall attitude toward our group overshadowed the positives. For a birthday celebration that I had planned and booked weeks in advance, I left feeling disappointed and embarrassed that my guests had been treated this way. I would expect much more from a restaurant when hosting a large private event.

David was an excellent server. The food was good, ambience also. Would have liked better seating, but did not have a reso. Gets quite busy, so book if you’re going on the weekend.

We are SO happy we chose Sidebar Grill Restaurant for our wedding reception! Everything was honestly perfect. The staff set up all of our decorations beautifully and brought everything together exactly how we had envisioned it. Walking in and seeing the space completely set up was such an amazing feeling. The food was extraordinary. Genuinely some of the best food we could have asked for at our wedding. Everything was absolutely delicious, and our guests loved it as well. The staff were also incredible. So kind, welcoming, attentive, and wonderful to work with throughout the entire celebration. We booked out the indoor patio for our 50 person reception, and it was the perfect size and atmosphere. It felt intimate without feeling crowded and made for such a beautiful celebration. We couldn’t be happier that we chose Sidebar Grill for such an important day. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would recommend them in a heartbeat!

My husband and I came here for a date night as we had a gift card and never tried this place before. We started off with wings, “Mango Mongo” flavour, and wow! Everything about these wings were phenomenal, the heat with the mango and house made peanut sauce was delicious. For dinner I had the lamb burger, which was so delicious and fresh tasting with the goat cheese, tomatoes and arugula, it quickly became my favourite burger! My husband had the beef dip, which had the chimichuri sauce on the sandwich, which definitely elevated the sandwich and the horseradish on the side was perfect. Lastly, our experience was absolutely amazing thanks to our server Natalie, from the get go she was so welcoming and friendly, really making us enjoy our experience from start to finish! There’s no doubt we will be back!!

Came here for a company event and had the private room, which was ideal. Service was excellent. Menu looks good however all chicken dishes are halal certified which is an odd choice considering the demographic in the area. Unfortunately I could not order the top 2 things that I wanted. I wish they would go back to regular chicken so I, and many other punjabi individuals could enjoy more of the menu.

Our host was David. The food was awesome, he was great. We wanted to try it out as we knew there was one coming to Chilliwack. His family is originally from there. Awesome meal.

Worst service ever. Buddy and I have come in 3x First time we waited over an hour to get service to get the wrong drinks and charged more after the waiter argued about our order. We made it on happy hour and because they didn’t take our food order for over an hour we missed it and charged extra. Keep in mind this would have been fine if they were busy and I would have been lenient but the server was just talking to their friends the whole time. We got whiskey sours which tasted really off and when asking about the drink the server got defensive brought over the bartender who also got defensive about the drink. Eventually the manager came over and found out the bartender was making the drinks wrong and finally fixed it. Second time we went in my friend just wanted to use up some gift cards for take out while we had a lunch together. We waited almost two hours for our take out food which was two burgers. Absolutely ridiculous again never saw our server. Last time we came for a quick drink and we ordered shots off happy hour to be charged for a double premium tequila which we didn’t order. We asked about it the server said you ordered it and drank it. We asked about a manager as we never ordered it we asked for the happy hour shots and how would we know if it was premium before we drank it…. It’s a shot…… Charged 30$ a shot said there was no manager and absolutely ridiculous….. This is just the service alone and drinks we have eaten a few times and the food almost always come out lukewarm or cold. I would never come here again and have advised all friends and family to stay away honestly worse t dining experiences I’ve ever had 3x now

My wife and I are here, right now, on a Friday night. I had the smash burger and yam fries, and she had the fish tacos. Excellent! The piece of fish in one of my wife’s tacos could easily have been a piece of fish you’d expect on your plate when you ordered the fish and chips meal. I ordered the smash burger and yam fries. Equally as delicious. We sat at the bar. Liam and Steph serving behind the bar are absolutely amazing. They’re friendly, engaging and very accommodating. Special shoutout to Natalie who never fails to impress.

I love this place - great food amazing staff. I always feel like they make sure everything is great. I have been here multiple times and never once had a complaint. Tonight David was awesome even when he was the only server. I never felt like I was waiting for anything. And now I have yummy left overs.

Sarah was absolutely righteous. Best service I’ve had in years. I worked in the industry for 15 years, and she is engaging and smart and attentive. Absolutely 12/10 service. Give this girl a raise.
