Beautiful and excellent from start to finish as usual. Every single course was meticulously crafted, showcasing the chef's incredible attention to detail and respect for the ingredients. The hospitality was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was serene and intimate. A truly amazing dining experience.

When making this reservation I noted that I had celiac disease, and called to verify that this could be accommodated. Upon arrival they acknowledged that all of my food would be made gluten free as well. I'm not sure if it was complete disregard to my intolerance, or a matter of cross contamination, but I was extremely ill and sick following my visit. Do not go here if you have a good allergy.
Amazing service, food, and show. The chef really knew what he was doing and made it such a great evening. Might be the best sushi I have ever had.
Such cozy and friendly gem! Sushi and sashimi are melt in yoir mouth. Very high quality sushi with amazing complimenting flavors. Will be back!!
Amazing SUSHI super fresh. The experience is wonderful. My partner and I had a great time. It really allowed me to try some fish I normally never would!
An absolutely phenomenal experience! ❤️ First of all, all the servers and chefs were so welcoming and fun (especially the head chef)! Every single piece was perfection. My favourite was the toro, but everything else was just as amazing and absolutely delicious. Choosing the sashimi omakase was definitely the best decision. We paired it with Hakkaisan sake (cold one), and it went so well with the meal so well. Crisp, chill, and just a little bit of subtle sweetness. 100% coming back again soon! Thanks for making our night 🥰
My favorite omakase, Sushi Kaji! I always leave feeling warm, satisfied, and completely happy. The food, atmosphere, and experience are always so special
Absolutely unforgettable Omakase experience! The bites of food were spectacular, and the service could not have been any better. Huge variety. Highly recommend!
Fantastic food and music comparable with Asia
Went here for an anniversary and was great! Atmosphere was calm and food was amazing! Will be back
Incredible experience, that felt both “authentic” but still grounded in the neighbourhood
Stopped by on my way home yesterday. Pretty good setup all around.
Friendly staff and excellent food. It was a very good Omakase experience.
Sushi Kaji is amazing, I dont need to go downtown or even to Japan, to enjoy high-quality omakase. Chef Kaji has years of experience with traditional sushi and omakase, and you can really taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients. What’s even more impressive is that many of his former junior chefs are now working at well-known omakase restaurants downtown, where you can easily pay $100–$200 more for a similar experience. Having this level of omakase right here in Etobicoke is great, I just hope Chef Kaji stays here for a long time
Pretty decent place. Clean, quiet enough, and the staff was helpful with my questions.
Went here for my wife's birthday. We had driven by this location many times and finally decided to check it out. The staff, experience, and food was exceptional. I cannot recommend this enough!
One of the worst omakase experiences I’ve ever had in Toronto. I chose the $190 per person omakase, and honestly, I’m still wondering whether I chose the wrong restaurant or simply had completely unrealistic expectations. First, the sushi rice was cold, which is really disappointing for an omakase at this price point. There was also way too much mustard on so many of the sushi pieces that it completely overpowered the taste of the fish. And the appetizers? Fried chicken with onion soup. Seriously? For a $190 omakase, this is what we were served as an appetizer? It felt completely out of place. Even more disappointing was the lack of variety. How can I be served salmon FOUR times in different forms? Salmon sashimi, salmon hand roll, salmon sushi… At this price, I expect much more variety and creativity. To make matters worse, the fish itself did not taste particularly fresh. For an omakase, the quality and freshness of the fish should be the absolute foundation. The service was also just so-so. Nothing about the experience made me feel that I was getting what I paid for. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience, especially considering the price. I definitely will not be coming back, and I would not recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a high-quality omakase experience in Toronto.
Authentic omakase experience for a reasonable price.
I hope you never want to enjoy sushi again. Because after you eat here every single time you think "I could go out for sushi" you will know, deeply and completely, from the bottom of your soul that no, you can't just go out for sushi anymore. You will have to come back here and not go wherever else you thought you'd grab a casual bite to eat. Meanwhile, you'll have elevated yourself to hero status if you take a friend. Gamble at your own risk.
It’s been about 15 years since we last visited. I was surprised the restaurant was still in business when I decided to visit again for our wedding anniversary. I can see why Sushi Kaji is still around today. The service was amazing, food very fresh and ambiance was intimate. Thank you for making our evening special!!
I had such a wonderful dining experience here. Every course was presented with incredible attention to detail, making the entire meal feel like a special event. The seared piece of meat served over seasoned rice was a highlight, perfectly topped with just a hint of fresh green onion. I also really enjoyed the small dessert served in a glass, which featured blueberries and a delicate herb garnish. It was as beautiful as it was tasty. This is truly a gem on The Queensway for anyone who appreciates thoughtful and well-crafted food.
We have a great time here. Sit at the bar. It’s fascinating to watch the staff work. The fish is always fresh and tasty and I get to try sushi I’ve never had before :)
Top notch experience in Japanese cuisine. Highly recommend for foodies and sushi enthusiasts.
A likely once-in-a-lifetime experience as the chef at Sushi Kaji is said to be retiring soon. So glad to have been able to experience this restaurant, the service was excellent, and the food sublime. One piece in particular stands out: the ebi nigiri. This shows up on many, if not most sushi plates, and it's always slightly dry and rubbery with very little flavour. The piece we were served was nothing I'd had before: moist, flavourful, and perfectly matched to the rice and wasabi. The elevation of this simple item to a work of art was a revelation.
The hamachi was outstanding. Overall wonderful service, food, and experience! Will go back.
