First time trying Persian food and it was SO DELICIOUS! Came here with my sister because of the reviews and word of mouth around town and it did not disappoint! We both had the vaziri kebab platter and loved it! Wonderful friendly service as well, will definitely be back to try the stews.

Who ever gave the only 4 star review, please sit down. This was amazing. The food is out of this world, attention to detail and the owner is so nice. Portions are great as well!

Visited today, we were a group of 11 people, felt super welcomed although we were a big group showed up without a prior reservation, the service was superb, the food was delicious and fresh, staff and service was fantastic, highly recommend this restaurant and definitely worth the drive.

Amazing food, great atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality! Everything was delicious, and the owner is such a wonderful person who genuinely cares about his guests. You really feel welcomed and appreciated here. Highly recommend Zeytoon Restaurant!

If you're looking for a spot in Peterborough that serves up authentic Persian flavors, Zeytoon Restaurant on Water Street is an absolute must-visit. I recently dined there and tried two of their signature dishes, and both completely blew me away. The Food: Vaziri & Gheimeh Polo I started with the Vaziri Kebab combo, and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. The plate features a perfectly grilled skewer of juicy, saffron-marinated chicken and a flavorful skewer of ground beef koobideh, served with a generous portion of fragrant, fluffy rice. The meat was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked, and the portion was large enough that I could easily have shared it. I also tried the Gheimeh Stew with rice, which was phenomenal. The stew is a comforting bowl of tender lamb and yellow split peas in a rich tomato sauce, topped with crispy fries (a classic touch). The flavor was deep and authentic—honestly, one of the most delicious stews I've ever had. The Experience The restaurant itself is a cozy, welcoming spot. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole meal feel warm and hospitable. The prices are also very reasonable for the generous portions you get, making it excellent value for money. Whether you're a longtime fan of Persian food or trying it for the first time, I can't recommend Zeytoon enough. I'll definitely be coming back.

I ordered food from this restaurant, and honestly, it was some of the best Persian food I’ve ever had! I’ve tried Persian restaurants across Canada, and I can confidently say that this place in Peterborough can easily compete with some of the best Persian restaurants in Toronto. I absolutely loved the quality of the food, the reasonable prices, and the overall experience. Everything was delicious and definitely worth trying. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is small but mighty! The food is excellent. We have eaten here twice and come away thoroughly impressed by Ronnie who prepares meals with great care and flair! There are a few tables and and busy takeout. A great place for an amazing lunch.

We just drove to Peterborough and looked for must try restaurant nearby. We were wondering why it has high reviews. Well, as someone who loves to explore food. This can be one of the reason why we will keep on coming back to Peterborough 😁 Only the owner was serving that time but he was fast and the food was prepared fresh, flavorful and really really really good! We enjoyed observing his preparation. We ordered the lamb shank and chicken shawarma plate. They were indeed must try!!! The dine in is good. But even if you will take them out, the preparation and experience are still great! We will definitely come back and can’t wait to try the other menu. Thank you Ronnie for the five star experience. We appreciate how welcoming you are even though you just met us. You treat all your customers like a friend. Hoping that your restaurant will go a long way ❤️

Oh My, do not drive by, go in and order some of the best of the best. Ronnie's Persian eggplant dish is from his mother's secret recipe, so delicious!! The owner is a fantastic gentleman, friendly and cares about the food he serves. I will be going back very soon, I am hooked.

We discovered Zeytoon Restaurant almost by accident this summer while travelling to Montreal, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. We stopped in Peterborough along the way and ordered the koobideh kebab and lamb shank. The food was excellent—fresh, flavourful, generous portions, and very reasonably priced. What made the experience particularly memorable, though, was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Ruhollah, the chef, was incredibly friendly and made us feel genuinely welcome. We enjoyed both the food and the experience so much that on our way back from Montreal, we actually decided to detour off the highway and return to Peterborough just to eat here again! On our second visit, we tried the khoresht gheymeh, and once again, it was worth the visit. It had that comforting, home-cooked quality that makes Persian food so special. Great food, reasonable prices, a cozy atmosphere, and wonderful hospitality. It’s not often that a restaurant you discover while travelling is good enough to make you change your route just to visit it a second time, but Zeytoon did exactly that for us. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Peterborough or passing through. We will happily return the next time we’re in the area.

Ronnie is warm and welcoming. The food is out of this world. The eggplant dish, shawarma, and chicken kebab is awesome. Worth the trip out of town for the food. Don’t forget to have the baklava for dessert.

We just ate an incredible meal at Zeytoon…the eggplant plate is a recipe of the owner’s mother, which was so tasty. We also tried the chicken kebab and chicken shawarma plate. I wish I lived in Peterborough so I could try the rest of the food here. Don’t miss this place! The owner is so kind and brought us all tea to sip of as we waiting for our meal. 10/10 would recommend.
